Welcome to my website, which takes its’ name from an old quarry ledge on a stretch of the South West Coast Path in Dorset. It is somewhere with a remote, timeless and diverse beauty and encapsulates many things that interest me as an artist; geology, history, nature and a quietly powerful atmosphere.
As an artist, I particularly enjoy walking and finding out about what I see; the history of an old building, the geological process and features of a natural form, the wildlife that inhabits a particular place as well as the feeling that being in these places can sometimes generate. I record this process mainly through photography and taking notes, and then converting this back into detailed drawings of what I have experienced. Detail is an important feature of my work; as places experience weathering, or seasonal/daily change, I enjoy the challenge of trying to record these processes.
New work is continually added to the site and you can find out about any upcoming shows or features in the news/events section. Please feel free to contact me should you have enquiries about any aspect of the site or my work.
